ABOUT MARCOS ANDREW NAVARRO
Marcos Andrew Navarro is an American professional Mixed Martial Artist and professional Boxer, holding 3 World Titles in Jiu-Jitsu, winning from lightweight to heavy weight. With discipline and a winning mindset, Navarro is strong, self-determined, intelligent, hard-working and his winning records span over a decade. Over the course of his career, he has recorded knock out power in professional boxing and known for his high-flying kicks and has the ground game of a world class submission fighter and World Champion in Jiu-Jitsu. Beating all expectations of a traditional Martial Artist, Navarro is diverse because his skills expand into the professional boxing ring.
Navarro was born in Brawley, California, USA and was a natural born athlete. He began playing sports early at age 7. In High School, he earned 14 Varsity letters and was written up in numerous articles, with the applause from fans in upwards of 10,000 cheering at The Bell Game, playing as an all-league Running back and Cornerback. Known as “The Bull”, because of his hard hits, Navarro was recognized as a stand out athlete and noted in history through the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) in wrestling.
Growing up in the media with his accomplishments continuously mentioned throughout the press, other well-known professional fighters and pro boxers began learning of Marcos Andrew Navarro. Not all were in support, and some began challenging him in street fights and he was left no other option than to defend himself. Many locals witnessed such events, which ended in knockouts, face kicks, slams to the head and more. One recalls Navarro yelling at a professional Mixed Martial Artist, “kick harder”, before also witnessing Navarro slamming him to the ground on his head.
Shortly after High School, Navarro trained and went to school to become a Professional Firefighter. It was at this time he realized his calling was in Martial Arts, so he traveled to San Diego to begin his professional career, studying submission ground fighting with a Japanese Coach named Naga.
In 2008, Navarro studied Muay Thai and submission fighting from a National WBC Kickboxing Champion where he quickly won several medals and championships all across America, such as Grapplers Quest, winning Gold, Silver and Bronze. Navarro also went on to the North American Grappling Association, winning 3 World Jiu-Jitsu Championships and competed all across America in California, Hawaii, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Florida, Texas, Atlanta, New York, New Jersey, Chicago and many others. He lived in both Switzerland and America, traveling in and out of the country, also competing in Europe with IBJJF. Navarro also won in submission fighting medals for the NAGA and Grapplers Quest.
In 2010 Navarro began training out of Riverside County in California, USA and got belted under Master Rommel Dunbar, World Champion, with over 40 years of experience in Martial Arts and is the ONLY Certified Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt in the Inland Empire.
In 2011, Navarro trains in Olympic style wrestling in a town near Zermatt, Matterhorn with famous Swiss Martinetti wrestler, Gregory Martinetti who competed in the men’s freestyle wrestling at the 2000 summer Olympics. Navarro then goes on to win the World Jiu-Jitsu Championship in the North American Grappling Association (NAGA), an organization that holds Submission Grappling and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu tournaments throughout North America and Europe. NAGA is the largest submission grappling association in the world with over 700,000 participants worldwide, including some of the top submission grapplers and MMA fighters in the world.
From 2012-2013, Navarro trained at Kings MMA in Huntington Beach, California, USA, then goes off to win the Karate Grand National Championships with Chris Casamassa, best known as “Scorpion” from Mortal Kombat.
During this time, Navarro begins training in Taekwondo where he earned and acquired a 2nd Degree Blackbelt by the Kukkiwon, also known as the World Taekwondo Headquarters. The Kukkiwon is a recognized governing organization for Olympic or WTF style Taekwondo. Ownership of a Kukkiwon Dan certificate demonstrates international acceptance of the Taekwondo skills. This is the highest Dan level certification available in the world today.
In 2016, Navarro signed paperwork to become a Professional Boxer.
Then, in 2017, Navarro won the Gold medal at the NAGA World Championship in Jiu-Jitsu, making him a two-time NAGA World Champion, out of Rancho Sante Fe, North County, San Diego.
In 2018, Navarro won the Bronze in the World NAGA Championships in Texas, USA.
In 2019, Navarro won the Gold medal and the NAGA Belt, making him a 3-Time World Champion in Texas, USA.
In 2020- 2021, Marcos Andrew Navarro trained in advance Muay Thai classes, perfecting his stand-up skills with some of the best fighters in the world at King’s MMA in Huntington Beach, under Coach Rafael Cordeiro, known for coaching professional UFC Fighters and Mike Tyson.
In 2021, Navarro won his professional boxing debut fight in the country of Mexico, becoming an Internationally known professional Boxer, sanctioned by the World Boxing Council (WBC), one of the four major organizations which sanctions professional boxing bouts, alongside the World Boxing Association.
Later in 2021, Navarro signs paperwork to collaborate with Coach Cleber Luciano, owner and Founder of Cleber Jiu-Jitsu in Huntington Beach, California where Navarro and Cleber would begin training together, one on one. Cleber Luciano is a Brazilian professional mixed Martial Artist and BFF World Champion, with a jiu-jitsu black belt under Royler and Rolker Gracie (sons of Helio Gracie, Founder of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu), as well as a Judo Black Belt with experience in Mixed Martial Arts (MMA). A pioneering Jiu-Jitsu Coach in Huntington Beach, California, Luciano is one of the most relevant competitors of his generation through his performances in the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation (IBJJF), in which Cleber earned Pans, World NoGi and World Masters Gold medals.
